An elegant edition of the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament and some of the Apocrypha, containing numerous woodcuts, some by artists Hans Springinklee and Erhard Schön, students of Albrecht Dürer. Two of the woodcuts were printed on full pages, the others are in-text; some colored in red. The text is printed within decorative borders.
[14], CCCXVII, [25] leaves, approx. 36 cm. Good-fair condition. Worming throughout the book (slightly affecting the text). Stains, some dark. Markings in red ink and handwritten notations (old) to title page, endpapers and margins of several leaves. A few closed and open tears. Strips of paper (for marking) glued to margins of several leaves. Wooden, leather-covered, embossed binding with two metal clasps. Blemishes to binding.
