Five decorated cards, featuring sayings in Hebrew and Yiddish. [Europe, 1845-1856].
Thick, high-quality cards, with printed elliptical borders in various colors. Various sayings with Yiddish translation were inscribed on the cards (in square and cursive Ashkenazic script; see Hebrew description).
Chronograms on four of the cards, alluding to the years 1845, 1848 and 1856.
The purpose of the cards is not clear, yet the words used in the chronograms seem to indicate that they were intended for children.
