Birkat David, Chassidic and Kabbalistic homilies on the Torah and festivals, by Rebbe David of Tolna. Zhitomir: R. Chanina Lipa and R. Yehoshua Heshel Shapira, grandsons of the rabbi of Slavita, 1862. First edition.
Printed during the lifetime of the author Rebbe David Twersky of Tolna (1808-1882), son of Rebbe Mordechai of Chernobyl. In his introduction, the author, known as a wonder-worker, blesses: "We shall merit pure future joy, and constant blessings".
Originally printed with two title pages and two prefaces, with only slight differences between them. The present copy only comprises the second title page and preface.
143 pages. Lacking first [4] pages, with first title page and preface. 20 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains, including dark stains. Worming, affecting text in several places, repaired with paper. Inscriptions. Deleted stamps and signature. New binding.
