Shtreimel of the Rebbe of Trisk, R. Yaakov Aryeh Twersky of London and Bnei Brak.
Shtreimel with a cone-shaped velvet center (typical of rebbes of the Ruzhin dynasty), worn by the rebbe and later by his son R. Yitzchak David Twersky. The shtreimel was received from the rebbe's family, with a letter of authenticity from a family member.
Several other items enclosed: • Silver plaque from the rebbe's Beit Midrash, with an engraved inscription: "For the Beit Yaakov synagogue of Rebbe Yaakov Aryeh Twersky". • A printed Shanah Tovah card from the rebbe, with his address in Bnei Brak. • Three photographs of the rebbe.
Rebbe Yaakov Aryeh Twersky of Trisk-London (1884-1979), prominent rebbe in England and Eretz Israel. Born in Trisk to R. Mordechai Zusia Twersky grandson of Rebbe Avraham Twersky the Maggid of Trisk. On his mother's side, he was a grandson of Rebbe Yitzchak Friedman of Bohush-Ruzhin. Served as rebbe in Zinkov and Kamenets-Podolsk. After WWI, he fled to Vienna and Berlin, eventually reaching London where he established a large Chassidic court, the first in England. He was renowned for his outstanding love for his fellow Jew and exceptional hospitality – his home in London was always open to all and filled with guests from various countries. He immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1964, and established his court in Bnei Brak.

Large and assorted collection of printed leaves with Shanah Tovah greetings – letters, appeals to donors and calendars. Jerusalem, Safed, Paris and other cities, ca. 1880-1940. Hebrew, English, French and German.
The collection includes fine printed Shanah Tovah letters, decorated with illustrations of holy sites, portraits of Baron Maurice de Hirsch and Moses Montefiore, portrait of R. Zadoc Kahn Rabbi of Paris, pictures of Jerusalem institutions, and more.
Apart from the printed leaves, the collection also includes a handwritten and hand-decorated Shanah Tovah letter, in calligraphic script, from Kollel Koidanov in Jerusalem (Elul 1908). Similar decorated leaves were produced in Jerusalem in the 1890s-1900s for institutions and individuals.

The Binding of Isaac, color lithograph by Moshe son of Yitzchak Shah Mizrachi (before 1870 – 1940). [Jerusalem, 1907/1908].
The lithograph is divided into two horizontal panels. The upper panel, decorated with a stylized arch, depicts Abraham brandishing the knife, Isaac bound on the altar, the angel and the ram caught in the bush; Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Eliezer and the donkey are depicted in the lower panel. The panels are flanked on both sides with flower filled vases and two small scenes from Isaac's life.
Two pair of lions bearing Torah crowns in upper corners, with the emblems of the twelve tribes.
An additional copy of the plaque, printed in different colors, is found in the Jewish Museum of New York (item F 4128).

The Binding of Isaac, large color lithograph by Moshe son of Yitzchak Shah Mizrachi (before 1870 – 1940). [Jerusalem? first decades of 20th century].
This lithograph, more detailed than Mizrachi's known Binding of Isaac works, is divided into four horizontal panels. The uppermost panel contains three pictures, each set in a stylized arch: Mount of Olives, a general view of Jerusalem, and between them Abraham, Isaac and Sarah, with a quotation from a piyyut relating the discussion between Abraham and Sarah before the binding. The second panel depicts Abraham brandishing the knife, Isaac bound on the altar, the angel and the ram caught in the bush. The third panel depicts Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Eliezer and the donkey. A fourth panel, which does not usually appear in Mizrachi's depictions of the binding of Isaac, portrays Rebecca giving a drink to Eliezer, who is accompanied by a caravan of camels.
Shalom Sabar, in his essay The Binding of Isaac in the Work of Moshe Shah Mizrahi, attributes this unsigned work to Moshe Shah Mizrachi.

The lithograph is divided into two horizontal panels, the upper one depicting Abraham, Isaac bound on the altar, the angel and the ram and the lower one Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Eliezer and the donkey. Differs slightly from other documented versions.
21X24 cm. Good condition. Printed signature at foot of leaf (presumably followed by the date), deleted in black ink. Marginal tears. Stains, mostly marginal. Creases. Pinholes.
