[Moshe Mendelssohn], translation into German of a Hebrew verse of thanksgiving by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Lifshitz (Hartog Leo), concerning the surprising victory of King Friedrich II, King of Prussia, over the armies of France and its allies in the battle near the village of Rossbach in Saxsony.
The members of the Berlin Jewish Community commemorated this victory by reading this verse of thanksgiving on the following Shabbat.

[Moshe Mendelssohn], translation into German of a Hebrew song of thanksgiving by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Lifshitz (Hartog Leo), concerning the victory of King Friedrich over the Austrian army in the Leuthen battle, on December 8 1757.
News about this victory arrived in Berlin on December 8 1757, on the eve of lighting the second Hanukah candle. The event was commemorated by the Jews on the following Shabbat by reading this verse of thanksgiving composed by Lifshitz and with an enthusiastic sermon held by Rabbi David Fränckel.

Amongst the regulations are details of taxes imposed on the Jews: property taxes, inhabitance permits (protection fees), residence tax, garden tax, wine tax, tax on night lodging (of strangers), tax for permit renewal. German, with handwritten additions on a number of leaves.

Regulations detailing five documents for which a special ink-stamp is requested. Paragraph 5 states that marriage certificates of Jews necessitate a special stamp, "Gulden-Stempel". Handwritten note appears over the leaf.
Large single leaf, 43X53 cm. Good-fair condition. Folded into 4, folding marks and minor tears. Ink stains, no text damage.

The history of the Jewish community in Frankfurt depicts the often deportations, conditions of rehabilitation, pogroms against the Jews (Fettmilich Aufstand), construction of the ghetto and more.
Requests and complaints against the municipality by members of the Jewish community, amongst them – individuals, rabbis, merchants, courts and more.
At the end of the binder appears an appendix detailing the numbers of houses and their legal owners in the street of Jews for the year 1612.
The binder was presented by Johann Rudolph Buvher to Emperor Josef II on behalf of the management of the Frankfurt municipality.

Manifest by the city of Minden (Germany), with instructions concerning the registration of population. The manifest states that Jews have to be registered, registration will be executed by the police, and that every Jew in Minden must report a birth, death or marriage. The Jewish inhabitants of the city have to report within 24 hours while inhabitants of neighboring villages within five days. In addition, when a Jew travels abroad where he has a new born child, the child will be considered a citizen of his parents' city of residence rather than a citizen of the city where the child was born.

Ryhmed manifest calling the citizens of Vienna to join the Jews of Vienna for a better future for all the inhabitants of the city.
The writer, Simon Szanto (1819-1882), a Jew born in Hungary. In 1845 upon termination of his studies he arrived in Vienna and established a Jewish school (1849). Founded and edited the weekly magazine Die Neuzeit as well as editing calendars and annual publications for Jews. In 1864 was appointed the official interpreter of the Vienna court and in 1869 was appointed as supervisor of Jewish education. Published essays and feuilletons in periodicals for Jewish readers and for the general public. (See attached material). German.

Separate details for six Jewish Shochatim (ritual slaughterers) in the city, weekly tax for Jewish shochatim, tax "for a kosher ox from Hungary or Poland, slaughtered in the winter months for home use" and additional taxes. German.

Amongst them are details of taxes imposed on Jews that register for marriage in the municipality: "A pair of married Jews, if both are local, they must pay 2 gold guilders / in addition for the clerk and the servant together 1 florin / in addition for the judge and the person who registers the certificate 15 kroizer". Taxes for a Jewish couple that were married and registered as citizens, tax for renewal of permit as well as taxes for non-Jewish citizens. German.
