About Us

Kedem Auctions was established in 2008 by Meron Eren and Avishai Galer, both experienced professionals in the Judaica and Israeliana collectibles fields. Prior to founding Kedem, both Meron and Avishai had been involved in the purchase and sale of antique Jewish books, manuscripts and artifacts for several years. Avishai specializes in Jewish religious books (“Sifrei Kodesh”) and rabbinical manuscripts, while Meron focuses on items related to Jewish and Israeli history and culture. As the company’s co-founders and co-managers, their combined decades of expertise have helped build Kedem into one of the world’s leading Judaica auction houses.
Kedem derives its name from the Hebrew and is a direct reference to the past. ‘Kedem’ means ‘past’, however it also translates to ‘progress’ and thus indicates also a glimpse towards the future. It is the fusion of these two worlds that best defines Kedem’s offering.
Kedem employs a growing team of experienced specialists and experts, all passionate about their craft. The company is headquartered in the historic center of Jerusalem with a sales office in New York.
Kedem’s world-class catalogs are renowned for their accurate, informative descriptions and quality photographs. We conduct auctions based on the highest level of credibility, extending courtesy and respect to both buyers and sellers. All past auction results are accessible via our website.

Customers

Since its founding only ten years ago, Kedem has continued to expand its activities and offerings and increase its customer base to become one of the leading auction houses of its kind in the world. Public Auctions

Kedem hosts a variety of public auctions throughout the year. Our four areas of expertise include Judaica (religious books, manuscripts, rabbinical letters and objects); Jewish and Israeli history and culture; Israeli and international fine art, and Objects (Judaica, Israeliana and numismatics). Items from these fields are offered in three types of auctions: Catalog auctions, Online-only auctions and our bi-annual Rare and Important Items auctions.
We accept a wide range of material on consignment — from single items to complete collections – for evaluation and future sale. Kedem’s experienced staff of specialists carefully inspects and evaluates each item we receive and then works closely with the consignor to choose the best path of action, with the mutual goal of achieving the best possible sales result.

Private Treaty Sales

For those clients who prefer to sell their collectibles directly and not via auction, Kedem’s rapidly growing Private Treaty Sales department can help you find a suitable buyer. To date Kedem has brokered the sale of millions of dollars worth of items on behalf of our clientele, to both private and institutional buyers all over the world.
