Handwritten letter by Gershom Shalom, addressed to Mr. Shatz. Jerusalem, March 1973.
Prof. Shalom confirm the receipt of a written "project" on a topic with which they had lightly dealt in the 1920's, and with which Prof. Shalom did not identify. Prof. Shalom notes that he had found a number of mistakes in the project, but due to lack of time he would not write what they were.
Single leaf written on either side in German. Inscribed in Hebrew on top: "Prof. Gershom Shalom, Jerusalem, 28 Abarbanel St."

Itzik Manger is writing to you, the little boy that you have known and the great Yiddish poet, who is completely broken and sad and poor, being amongst the rich Jews in England […]my father died of hunger in Transnistria, my brother…lost the fingers of his left hand…and died of hunger and tuberculosis[…] regards to all who remember me". 11 letters by psychoanalyst Theodor Reik, sent to William Wolf in the United States, 1959-1960. Letters concern the publishing of Reik's books and their translation.
Reik (1888-1969), of the first students of Sigmund Freud in Vienna. His doctoral thesis was the first to deal with psychoanalysis. As a Jew Reik had to leave Austria to the United States in 1938 of fear of Nazism, where he established an important institute for the study of psychoanalysis. Wrote many books, some with an introduction by Freud (as mentioned in the letters herewith).
Wolf, the recipient of the letter, served as the literary agent of Theodor Reik. 11 letters, 9 of them handwritten, 2 type-written, signed, on Reik's stationery. English.
Varying size, good condition.

Frank was a vey active Zionist in South Africa and member of the board of the Zionist Organization there.
List of autographs includes David Ben-Gurion (autograph on a whole page), Salvador Dali (three times), Moshe Sharet (twice in Hebrew as well as in English and Arabic!), Moshe Dayan, Golda Meir and other Zionist figures from Eretz Yisrael, as well as personalities of South Africa, who were not identified by us.
Notebook 14 X 11 cm, colorful thick paper in leather-like cover with embossing. 26 leaves with more than 50 different autographs. Good condition, stains. 1 cm. missing to spine.
Attached are photographs, certificates and clippings related to the owner of the notebook – 10 items.
