Letter from Chafetz Chaim Yeshiva in Radin, signed by directors of Yeshiva, Rabbi “Eliezer Zev Kaplan” and Rabbi “Yehoshua Leib son of Rabbi Levinson”. Radin, Nisan 1935.
Appeal for assistance on behalf of Radin Yeshiva: “Which is presently in indescribably dire straits… and we hereby sign off with a blessing that the merit of the great rabbi, author of the Chafetz Chaim will benefit all those who contribute on behalf…”.
Official stationery, 27.5 cm. Good-fair condition, creases and minor tears.

Letter by Ga’on Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yosef Zaks Rosh Yeshiva of Chafetz Chaim Yeshiva in Radin, inquiring about family members, descendants of grandson of the Chafetz Chaim who resided in Belgium.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yosef Zaks (1894-1974), youngest son-in-law of the Chafetz Chaim, already served as Rosh Yeshiva in Radin during the lifetime of his great father-in-law. During the Holocaust traveled with his disciples to the city of Vilna and from there to the USA in order to transfer the Yeshiva students abroad, however he did not succeed and they were deported to Siberia. In the USA he served as chief Rosh Mativta in Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Yeshiva and was known as one of the Torah giants.
