One of the first books of Chassidut which mentions teachings of the Ba'al Shem Tov. The author, who passed away in 1798, was among the greatest disciples of the Maggid of Mezeritch, as well as being close to and a disciple of Rabbi Ya'akov Yosef of Polnֳ¡, Rabbi Nachum of Chernobyl and Rabbi Yitzchak of Berditchev.
All three volumes are bound together: 4-48, 61-80, [2] leaves; 52, 55-98, 101-120 leaves; 64 leaves. 20 cm. Light greenish paper. Fair-poor condition, stains and moth holes. Damages affecting the title page, the first and last leaves, pasted restoration paper. Rebound.

He blesses the publishers, that the merit of the author should "protect them and the printers and the purchasers of this book".
Ownership signatures and notations of Rabbi Aharon Porush (grandson of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman) of Kapust.
The author Rabbi Yisrael of Bohopol (passed away in 1849, Encyclopedia of Hassidism, 2, pages 512-513) son of the daughter of Rabbi Nachum of Chernobyl. This book contains sayings in the name of his grandfather, Rabbi Nachum of Chernobyl, and his brother-in-law, Rabbi Shalom Shachna, father of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin.

Arvei Nachal, a wonderful work on the Torah, by Rabbi David Shlomo Eibeschitz Av Beit Din of Sorocza. Sudilkovo, [between 1825-1836]. First edition. Unidentified signatures on leaf margins.
First edition of a basic book on Chassidism. Its author, Rabbi David Shlomo Eibeschitz (1855-1914, Encyclopedia L'Chassidut, 1, pages 501-503), a great Chassidic leader and rabbi, Rabbi of Sorocza. In 1809, immigrated to Eretz Israel, to Safed, where he is buried. In his approbation, his relative Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev writes about him "sharp and proficient in Torah like one of the Rishonim and all his deeds are for the sake of Heaven". He wrote many works, including his famous halachic book Levushei Srad.
